God doesn’t belong in Russell Wilson’s contract negotiations

There are two things wrong with what Russell Wilson is saying about his contract negotiations.
First of all, not everything happens for a reason, KIRO Radio’s Ron Upshaw said.
And second, God is not involved in contract decisions.
“God is not standing in the way of a deal,” a heated Ron said. “It’s you and your agent on one side of the table and the Seahawks on the other side.”
Ron started the discussion after hearing the remarks Wilson made during a radio interview with wralsportsfan.com. During that interview, Wilson mentions God several times, including the few minutes he spent talking about his contract.
Wilson is trying to say that if the Seahawks don’t give him the contract he wants, it’s God’s will, Ron pointed out.
“The God I believe in wouldn’t let [Wilson] throw a pick in Super Bowl 49!” KIRO Radio’s Don O’Neill yelled, interrupting his co-host.
God doesn’t care whether or not you make millions of dollars, Ron continued. He doesn’t care about bonuses.
“To bring God into the conversation; I find that offensive to everything that Christianity stands for,” he said.
It’s all a political move, Ron noted.
“It’s not about God or religion … It’s about you being the highest paid quarterback in the NFL,” Ron said.
But is Wilson worth the money he is asking for?
He couldn’t have made the last two Super Bowls without the Seahawks’ defensive team, Don pointed out. He threw multiple interceptions during the NFC Championship game. The fact that they won was the miracle, Don said.
“Maybe God likes Tom Brady more,” Ron said.
