Bullet casings littered the streets of downtown Seattle Wednesday night after a shooting near 3rd and Pine that left two young men hospitalized.
Police officers saw a large group of people running near Second Avenue and Pine Street and found two males with gunshot wounds.
The Seattle Fire department says a 25-year-old man is critical condition while a 16-year-old boy is in satisfactory condition. Both have been taken to Harborview Medical Center.
Detective Patrick Michaud told KIRO Radio investigators have little to go on. They’re trying to get a basic description of the suspect.
“They’re trying to dig down and figure out if any of the people obtained a clear picture of what led up to this, why we had this many rounds fired last night,” he said.
Neighbors told KIRO that they saw a car drive down Pine and turn down Second Avenue before a man allegedly jumped out and shot at others. Witnesses report hearing between 12 and 20 shots fired.
Officers responding to the scene received another call of a man with a gunshot wound to the chest at a bus stop on Third Avenue and Blanchard Street.
However, officers learned the gunshot wound was from an incident years ago and the man needed assistance with an unrelated issue.
Police searched a car at a parking lot at Fifth and Stewart and appear to have two people detained.
