A driver admitted to killing a Sultan man’s 2-year-old black Labrador during a delivery.
The driver, who wished to remain anonymous, told KIRO Radio’s Dori Monson the dog might have got in his way as he pulled into the driveway.
“One of them might have got under my car or hit my tire or something …,” the driver said. “I didn’t notice at first.”
When he got out of the vehicle, Suzy the Labrador was nowhere to be seen, he said.
The driver looked around and was going to leave a note. However, he said he was nervous.
“I got so panicked, so upset,” he said.
The driver offered to buy Tim Curtis a new dog. He told Dori he’s owned a dog before.
“I felt horrible about it,” the driver told Dori.
The company who contracts with the driver has not returned phone calls asking for comment.
The next question is: What is a dog worth?
Curtis later told Dori he didn’t buy the driver’s story about how Suzy was hit. He also refused to take the man up on his offer to get him another dog.
