Do your kids ever ignore your calls? There’s an app for that

A mom frustrated when her kids wouldn’t respond to her calls decided to develop an app that shuts down the kids’ phone so they can’t use it until they call her back. It’s called Ignore No More.

Sharon Standifird, the mom who created the app, told CBS about the service:

“As a parent, all I have to do is touch the app, tap his name to lock Bradley’s device, enter at least a four digit code and now I’m going to press ‘Lock Bradley’s phone.’ And if you watch Bradley’s phone, it’s going to go blank. Bradley needs to call me because I’m the person that has the unlock password.”

Can you imagine being the kid with this mom? This is the exact type of mom who is seriously not going to be able to cope with the fact that her kid, at some point, will move out of the house, maybe go to college, maybe get married. This mom is way too possessive.

You are making your kids resent you. Everyone, including kids, they need some alone time. They need some space away from the parents who are constantly looking over their shoulder.

This is too much. Leave your kids alone just for a little bit. Your kid’s ignoring you doesn’t necessarily mean they don’t love you. It just means you’re annoying the heck out of them and they want some alone time.

I’m 32 years old and I still get texts from my mother that say “What are you doing?” “What’s going on?” And not just one text with two or three sentences, but like seven texts one after another after another. I’m sitting there like, enough! I often don’t respond.

Here’s the thing. In this instance, the kid has the power. They can just ignore you. But with this app, you’re forcing their hand. I suggest you just chill out and maybe try to bond with your kid instead of annoy them.
