Is drinking an acceptable excuse?

Rep. Trey Radel, a Florida Republican elected in 2012, was in court this morning facing cocaine possession charges. He says he struggles with alcoholism, and that's what led to his irresponsible choice. John and Tom talk about how Radel and Ford both used drinking as an excuse for worse behavior. John says once politicians agree to seek treatment, it's like touching base for them.
